Meet Our Co-Founder: Cassandra

Below, we dive into a Question and Answer session with Cassandra, one of the founders of Two Nerdy Cats (TNC) and the person who inspires Cece, one of the main characters in our universe. This interview is an intimate look at her world, as well as her creative process, journey as co-founder, and vision for the future of the brand. It’s also a chance to understand the culture and values that shape the company, how she helps the team navigate decisions, support each other, and build a company culture centered on empathy, structure, and comfort — a combination that makes everyone feel at ease and confident in taking the next step.
Cassandra is not only an organized, empathetic, and deeply disciplined leader: she’s also responsible for much of the content, design ideas, and day-to-day coordination within the brand. Her sensitivity in leading, love for all things cozy, nerdy humor, and almost magical ability to keep everything in order gives Two Nerdy Cats its warm, approachable, and authentic identity. Her role has a direct impact on the way the team navigates challenges, and her ability to focus on what’s important helps guide the business in a thoughtful, structured way.

She is a nurse by profession, a software developer by transition, as well as an avid reader, crochet enthusiast, and proud cat mom. Her energy blends tenderness, structure, and a deep love for calm hobbies. She has a very original way of seeing the world, one that makes her curious about new ideas and always willing to learn and share what she discovers with the rest of the team. Those small personal passions — from video games to vlogs about nature and cozy lifestyle — influence her creativity and contribute to the unique “cozy nerdy” view behind our products.

“I try to lead with compassion and empathy, which makes things easier for the rest of the team.”

The Full Interview
Q: What part of your personality is reflected the most in Two Nerdy Cats?
A: Definitely the "cozy hobby" part of it, where we show Cece baking, reading, and snuggled up. It was important to me to show Cece enjoying some of these geeky hobbies that focus on creativity and comfort. Also, the food/coffee loving part, like all of our ramen designs — that's half my personality!
Q: How would you describe the vibe of the Two Nerdy Cats community?
A: Collaborative, open and warm. We each have a specific role that we excel at, and come together to offer our ideas, suggestions and visions to drive things forward.
Q: What small ritual do you have before you sit down to work?
A: I used to make a cup of coffee and drink it right as I start my work day, but I've started to enjoy that cup of coffee right before I sit down to work now. Alongside the coffee, I'll complete "one" of something that I love: one chapter of a book, one cozy Youtube vlog, or sketch one thing. It's a nice way to start the morning slow, while 'accomplishing' something for leisure- starting the transition to productivity mode in a gentle way. And of course, I always have to check that the kitties are comfy before I officially sit down to work.
Q: What inspires you about the process of the other members of the team?
A: I'm in awe of Natalia's graphic design skills, particularly how she can take a drawing done by hand and refine it so it looks clean and polished. Similarly, I'm inspired by Manuela's thoroughness when creating blog article content or internal resources for the team. She knows how to infuse the Two Nerdy Cats playful humor with education. And Donald, well — his software development and leadership skills that drive updates on our website! I know some tech, but he's the real guru
Q: What has been one of the most memorable moments in the project?
A: For me, the most memorable moments were the creation of some of our early designs - particularly "Baking is Science", "Cece Lounging", "Coding is Love", "Cece Ramen", and "Dom Ramen". It was like the characters of Cece and Dom were coming to life and we could see their personalities taking shape!
Q: What is the nicest thing someone has said about your work?
A: That the work I was doing got the job done, and that I lead with compassion and empathy that makes things easier for the rest of the team and lifted them up to do their best. When you're a business owner or leader, a lot of what you do is done quietly, behind the scenes — but how it's done really impacts how the company and rest of the team performs.
Q: What has been the biggest challenge you’ve managed to overcome?
A: Probably when we had one of our designs stolen mid-year. We noticed a few generic shirt websites selling shirts using one of our original designs, that Natalia drew from scratch. We really wanted to protect our designs and ended up watermarking ALL of our images (from Etsy to Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and our website), and developed a strategy to do so for future images we created. It was stressful, but we did it — and strengthened our branding in the process. I couldn't have done it without the whole team!
Q: What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?
A: I have a ton of cozy hobbies. Lately, I've been reading on my Kindle a lot, sketching, and watching nature/lifestyle vlogs. I also love to play video games, crochet, go for walks, cook, and enjoy a meal with friends or family.
Q: What is your favorite time of year?
A: It's really hard to choose! I think it would be the entire Fall season — from the ambiance and nature to the food, media, and fashion. I really love the Spooky atmosphere of Halloween, as well as the quiet, enchanting feeling of early and late Fall. The flavors are my favorite- warm cinnamon, earthy pumpkin, sweet maple. Since I live in Florida, we don't really experience the seasons change much, but I love to travel and experience the crisp air as the leaves change.
Q: What is your favorite book?
A. Either "The Little Prince" by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry or "The Tao of Pooh" by Benjamin Hoff. "The Little Prince" is a truly beautiful piece about love and loss, and reminds me to hold what and who I love dear. "The Tao of Pooh" is a thoughtful book about Taoism, interpreted through the Disney character Winnie the Pooh. I've always loved Winnie the Pooh and when I read this book, I felt that I understood why.
Q: What is your favorite movie, TV series or anime?
A: Hmmm...movie is SO hard because there are many Disney and Don Bluth animations that hold a dear place in my heart, but in different ways. I'd go with Don Bluth's "Anastasia" for animated movie. For a live action movie, I'd go with "RENT". TV series: Probably "New Girl". For anime: "Steins Gate", 100%!
Q: What's your nerdiest trait?
A: I find most 'Dad jokes' actually funny. Like, laugh out loud funny.
Q: What hobby or interest do you have that might surprise people?
A: I'm learning to draw and I've been enjoying sketching nature. I also love a good game of Beat Saber.
Q: What is a comfort food for you?
A: Fatty tuna sushi (otoro)! Or cheese enchillada dinner from La bamba. That cheese and those refried beans are delicious!
Q: Do you collect anything? If so, what?
A: Not actively, but I have a small collection of certain plushies: handheld Pokemon plushies from The Pokemon Center based in Japan, and Palm Pals. Plus seasonal decor and a HUGE mug collection!
Q: What idea or emotion did you want the brand to express from day one?
A: I wanted the brand to feel playful, quirky and cute.
Q: How would you like people to feel when they receive a TNC product?
A: I'd love for them to feel excited! When I order something online and it finally arrives, I feel like I've gotten a little present. That's how I want other people to feel!
Q: Is there something that seems small, but is actually super important to you in the brand?
A: It's important to me that we are honest in how we present and promote our work. For example, many sellers or influencers will advertise products in a way that takes advantage of human psychology and steers towards negativity: like focusing on what someone lacks and convincing them they need to buy something or their life will be incomplete.
A lot of sellers create a false sense of urgency telling people to "STOP" or "RUN" to buy their product - or run sales deceptively, hiking prices up and running a sale so people 'think' they're getting a good deal, when it's just normal pricing. That's not us. It's important to me that people find our brand and content warm, fun and inviting. I love for them to purchase an item if it brings them joy or they want to support us, but not to be pressured.
Q: What collaboration or partnership do you dream of doing someday?
A: Haha, well, Nintendo would be a dream! Particularly, Legend of Zelda.
Q: What has been the most exciting moment in the brand’s journey so far?
A: We've recently launched an update to our website with a blog, where we post articles about our brand and topics dear to us — such as cats, reading, textile crafts (sewing and crochet), technology, science, and games. It's been in the works for a while - and it's another way for us to build community and share with the world!
Q: How would you describe the evolution of TNC from the beginning until now?
A: It's been nothing short of amazing. Design wise: the visuals of TNC started as a logo of Cece and Dom cuddling, and has grown to so many designs of them enjoying things they love! In terms of the business itself: it literally started with an idea for a logo and us deciding on names for the two cats...to what it is now, with our website and Etsy shop with over 60 products!
Internally, we've evolved too — we started off messaging, with no formal way of doing things, tracking progress or outcomes. Fast forward to today, where we're taking advantage of project management tools, workflow automations, and have defined and documented processes in place, for everything from product design to social media and analytics. We also implemented bi-weekly planning and check-in meetings, structured goals, and more. We've come a long way!
How Cassandra Shapes the Soul of the Company
_6.webp%3F2026-01-21T17%3A38%3A12.057Z&w=3840&q=100)
Cassandra is that essential blend of structure, warmth, and consistency that supports Two Nerdy Cats from the inside. She has a gentle kind of discipline — the kind that organizes without imposing — and a deep love for quiet hobbies such as reading, crocheting, cooking, and playing video games, all of which end up filtering into Cece’s “cozy nerdy” essence. Her way of leading is the same: empathetic, clear, organized, always attentive and available. She always checks in on her team — just like when she makes sure her cats, Spike and Luna, are comfortable before she starts her day.
Her sensitivity to all things cozy also shows up in the small rituals and environments she enjoys: warm flavors, slow routines, and that appreciation for aesthetics that leads her to love seasons full of charm, like autumn. All of this, without her even trying, influences how she imagines and builds the tender, homey, and magical universe that defines Two Nerdy Cats.
Her work carries that signature: order, sweetness, and a very honest authenticity. And thanks to that mix, the TNC universe feels close, real, and deeply warm. Without her, Cece wouldn’t be Cece, and Two Nerdy Cats wouldn’t have the same heart.
